Creating Your Own Mandala

We know you lead a busy and stressful life, so taking time to find inner peace is important. Mandalas are a great way to find such serenity. Delve into the intricate designs and patterns that come together to form a beautiful mandala. Whether it’s one that is full of symbolism and meaning, or a mandala made just for the beauty, find enjoyment and relaxation in the activity. There are many ways to make a mandala, ranging from one that is hand drawn\ to one that is drawn digitally. What methods you use all depend on you. Our team likes to start by first creating an inspiration board full of pictures that represent our mood or simply what makes us happy. Think about questions like what inspires your mandala? What color themes? Put together a collage of pictures that answers the questions.  Since Mandalas are circular in shape and have radial symmetry, trying to make sure that your drawing is the same size can sometimes be a struggle. There are many tools online that make it easier. Drawing by hand, however, is often equally satisfying. Create a color palette from your inspiration and use it as a guide. Let your imagination reign free  in the shapes and line that make up your mandala!  For drawing mandalas by hand, be sure to find a pen or marker to your liking. Drawing in pencil is a great way to start, but it is best to go over them with something darker. If you are a perfectionist, use a compass to draw some guidelines. Of course, if you want to just go in blind, try to make sure your drawing is symmetrical. Experiment with different designs and see which combinations you like, ultimately finishing to make a mandala. Below I have an example of how to draw a mandala by hand.I drew guidelines with a compass and rulers. These will help me make sure my mandal is more symmetrical.I then drew in the outlines of my mandala with a pencil.
